A musical couple devoted to work around the Aragonese traditional music in all of its possibilities. A wide offer ranging from traditional gaiteros ( ensemble of a piper and a drummer used to musically support all festivities) to didactic concerts, traditional dance music or even “De folías y troveros”, an indoor concert about the connections between traditional and early music in the surroundings of the ancient Aragonese court.
PASATRÉS
ZARAVAL
A musical trio that was born as a result of the collaboration between Diego Escolano, the Aragonese eclectic and virtuoso hand drummer Jonás Gimeno , and the highly talented Castilian singer and hand drummer Vanesa Muela . The ensemble offers a modern musical revision of the traditional music from the former kingdoms of Aragon and Castile: the Inner North Iberian Peninsula; the lands of the ancient Santiago way. A universe full of nuances, rich in musical styles and instruments presented in an energetic performance. His first recording “Ancha es Castilla y Alto Aragón” has been critically acclaimed as “one of the most interesting root music recordings of the year”.
A musical ensemble that explores the musical links between Aragón and Occitany; both northern and southern sides of the Pyrenean mountains with a common musical background that shares instruments and genres. A project that combines tradition and modernity seasoned with different musical flavors from world music to jazz.
LOU D'ARAGÓN
This project was born in 2013, led by the English piper Ian Harrison (cornett, shawm, and pipes) and the German musician Gesine Bänfer (bagpipes and shawm). Aimed to work with the connections between medieval and traditional music from northern Spain, the ensemble played its first and successful concert on Montalbâne medieval music festival.
